Cone thickener operation manual
Cone Thickener is an efficient concentration and clarification equipment for circulating water in washing plants. Its structural characteristics are an upper column and a lower cone. The height of the cone pool is greater than the diameter. An inclined plate is installed in the column to increase the effective sedimentation area, accelerate the sinking speed of fine particles, and improve the sedimentation effect. Due to the utilization of cone's natural pressure, clear overflow and high concentration bottom flow can be obtained. The equipment has a small footprint, large processing capacity, low power consumption, convenient management, and easy maintenance.
1. Equipment installation
1. This machine is equipped with a circular support in the truncated cone section and a circular flat support at the bottom of the truncated cone. The horizontal error of the support plane shall not exceed ± 2mm.
2. When installing each section of the machine, its verticality and levelness should be strictly checked, and there should be no leakage during continuous welding of the welds.
3. When installing the vertical shaft, ensure its verticality and keep the upper edge of the column horizontal to ensure even overflow around the perimeter.
4. The installation of the inclined plate inside the machine should be firm, evenly spaced, and not damage the surface.
2. Usage and operation
1. This machine has a good effect on the precipitation and concentration of fine particles (<0.3mm) and low concentration (30-50g/l) suspension particles.
2. Under normal feeding conditions, it is necessary to add 3-5 g/m3 of flocculant, but it must be diluted beforehand. Colloidal or powder flocculants need to be prepared into a solution of 0.5% to 1.0% first, and then diluted to a solution of about 0.1% for use. It should be added more frequently, preferably by spraying or along the full width of the coal slurry feeding trough, to ensure that the agent is fully mixed with the coal slurry.
3. Under normal feeding conditions, it is advisable to control the solid content of the bottom stream at 300-600 g/l. When the bottom flow discharge is large, the solid content decreases and the processing capacity increases; When an increase in bottom flow concentration is required (generally not greater than 600 g/l), the emissions will decrease and the amount of treatment (feed) will also decrease accordingly. The discharge system for the concentrated bottom stream should be determined based on the concentration requirements of the washing plant for the circulating water (concentrated overflow). It is necessary to ensure uniform and stable feeding and discharging of cone thickness.
4. When the production system of the entire factory is shut down, the bottom flow discharge needs to be delayed. The machine can only be stopped after the suspension in the body is emptied, but it still needs to be discharged every 2 hours to prevent blockage. When the machine is shut down for more than 24 hours, it must be emptied and the inner wall and inclined plate should be rinsed with high-pressure water to prevent solid particles from sticking and affecting the effectiveness of the next start-up.
5. The mixing system should generally not be shut down to avoid sedimentation and accumulation. If it is necessary to stop the machine for some reason, be sure to check for sedimentation when restarting. If there is sedimentation, measures should be taken to clean it up to avoid damaging the transmission and mixing system.
6. Regularly check the inclined plate for mud accumulation and blockage, and rinse it with high-pressure water regularly.
7. The maintenance of the motor reducer shall be in accordance with its instructions.
